A fire safety and property protection system for buildings requires knowledge and understanding of hazards to decrease the potential fire occurrence and its risk to life and property during a fire. When a fire breaks out, injury and death may occur due to asphyxiation from poisons fume and smoke burns from direct exposure to the fire, heart attacks because of stress and exertion, the impact resulted from structural collapse, explosions, and falls. Not only does the life safety and property protection influenced by the design of the structure and its fire protection measure but also, they affected by construction material quality, maintenance, and building content.
Thermal analysis is the study of materials as a function of changing temperature. There are several techniques for thermal analysis like Thermogravimetric analysis (TGA) which measures weight changes; Thermal Conductivity, a materials ability to transmit heat; Differential Thermal Analysis (DTA) which measures exothermic and endothermic reactions; Differential Scanning Colorimetry (DSC) which measures the heat required to raise the sample temperature; Dilatometry and Thermomechanical Analysis (TMA) which measure dimensional changes with changing temperature and; Dynamic Mechanical Analysis (DMA), dynamic mechanical thermal analysis (DMTA) which looks at viscoelastic properties of polymers.
Forensic science is the application of scientific knowledge to legal problems or proceedings. Forensic science is largely concerned with testing physical and biological evidence to determine objective facts in law enforcement like what happened, when it happened, and who was involved. So forensic science capability is important as it may bring forward information which is more accurate, precise and reliable than the testimony or confessions of an eyewitness.
