Mount process is a very helpful method in metallography which is used to handle small or odd shaped samples, and to protect delicate materials, layers or covering during sample research and to provide good edge maintenance.
Quality solutions support two methods of Mounting – Hot and Cold Mounting process. In the hot process, the sample is mounted under heat and pressure with a hot push. On the other hand, Cold is favored for samples which are vulnerable to harm from heat up and weight (like coatings, PCB, etc.) Cold resins are easily usable, and you have to mix them, which is then dispensed into a mould and allowed to set.
Inventive compressor machines are automatic mounting machine. During the process the pressure is automatically adjusted by a lever fixed inside the machine. The press comes equipped with a digital temperature controller to provide real-time temperature and to increase working efficiency. With these machines, around ten minutes is enough for sample mounting, and a mirror-like specimen may be made. For lasting mount of metallographic specimen, we provide bakelite press, the unit is constructed with rugged design, and is acted upon by a hydraulic press which has capacity of around ten tons.
How to do cold mounting? With our machine cold mount process is as easy as it can get, however, some basics steps have to be taken before you can do mount process. Clean the specimen well, because that is necessary to well fix mount medium to the specimen. For a successful mount process, dry the specimen well. For maintaining cleanliness, cleaned specimens should be handled with either gloves or tweezers. You will have to adjust the specimen size to match the mount cup size.
