For online drip irrigation, the PE pipe is supplied without any drippers inserted it in and it can conventionally need manual insertion of the drippers to the outer wall of the pipe. The main advantage of this method is that it can work with plants which are not placed with equal spaces as drippers are inserted manually right at the required point. Another advantage of this is as the drippers are accessible from outside of the pipe, various online drip emitter types also offer manual adjustment of each dripper flow, the ability for cleaning, or easily replacing a dripper if required. These features mainly allow for the dripper control along with a customized experience. The only drippers also have a con which is that inserting the drippers is a very tough task which effectively raises the cost and limits the size of the irrigation system installation. Because of all these reasons, online drip emitters are used mostly in in-house gardens, greenhouses, or other small-scale and gardening applications, where the cost of manual labor can be justified.
