A water irrigation solenoid valve is an electrically controlled valve which is used to regulate the flow of water. By applying a voltage over the coil, the valve opens and the liquid can flow through, Solenoid valves are also known as an electromagnetic valve, water valve, electric valve or electro valve. Our solenoid valves for the sports turf irrigation uses have been specially designed. They have a robust construction and are optionally equipped with manual flow control, so the desired flow can be adjusted. Most of the models come with an override function by which the valve can be opened manually when needed. They also have a dirt particle filter. Our supplied solenoid valves are compatible with almost all automatic irrigation controllers, as long as the control voltage matches.
2-way plastic solenoid valves have 2 ports which include 1 inlet and 1 outlet and 2 switching states (open or closed) which are electromechanically controlled. They solely start/stop the flow of the media and are mainly normally closed, so that in the cause of power failure, the valve can get closed. They can also have normally open (power to close) or bi-stable (latching).
Globe Valves are named so because of their spherical body shape. Also known as the ‘up and over valve’, this versatile valve is used for regulating flow infrequent and throttling operation applications. The presence of an opening inside the body forms the seat on to which the disc is screwed to close the valve. This has a slightly higher pressure drop than straight through valves – like a ball or gate valve – if it is used for on/off duty. Globe valves are unidirectional and should be installed in the correct position. The most important advantage is their precise throttling for high-pressure systems. The cons include low-flow coefficients and a longer operating time because the operator is required to manually turn the handle and stem repeatedly to ensure that the valve is fully opened or closed.
Brass solenoid valves are suitable for a wide range of uses including air (pneumatics), oxygen, vacuum, water, light oils, and neutral gases. We offer various types of brass solenoid valves for sports turf irrigation which are normally closed, normally open operation. For battery operation or other low power applications, 2-way types can be supplied in latching (bistable) versions. All the types can be supplied with mains or low voltage solenoid coils. Solenoid valve coils can be supplied with VDE or UL approvals on a selected range of voltages.
