Compression Fittings are regarded as one of the most common connection styles of fittings that are used in drip irrigation systems for Agriculture and Horticulture for connecting sections of solid drip tubing or dripper line. These compression fitting are available in an internal compression ring which can squeeze the outside diameter of the tube as it is inserted into the fitting. The ring has a sharp edge that can get into the soft tubing to prevent the tubing from blowing off the fitting and also create a watertight seal. Considered a permanent connection, compression fittings are not recommended for reuse. When the tubing gets inserted into the fitting, it can become very hard to remove the tubing. To fit a range of tubing, the compression fitting can be found and all of them are color-coded to indicate the appropriate tubing outside of the diameter in which they fit in. The range of compression fittings mostly includes couplings, tees, elbows, male thread adapters, spigot adapters, and plugs.
