House Connections

A hose connection is a part of the house sewer which lies between the public sewer and the curb line. In many cases, the house connection may extend to the fence line and occasionally to the foundation wall. House connections may have to be rehabilitated for various purposes such as blockages and leaks. Trenchless rehabilitation techniques like mechanical spot repair, slipping and cured-in-place pipe can be used to rehabilitate the house connection without disturbing the curb or fencing.

As the house connection is attached from the main sewer to the private sewer line, the maintenance of this section is usually taken care of by the municipality. To work on house connection, necessary permissions are needed, and for that only licensed plumbers with proper permits from specified authorities can work on the projects after thorough inspection by a sewer inspector. The house connection inspection can be done using trenchless inspection methods like close circuit television (CCTV) cameras and robotic crawlers mounted with cameras. The term of house connection must not be confused with other types of connections like house sewer and house drain.
