Oil in Water/Soil Analyzers by Spectro Scientific

 

These analyzers simplify and streamline the on-site oil analysis process. The products are designed to deliver high-quality information and actionable intelligence that leads to effective decision making. There are two key products available –

 

InfraCal 2 ATR-SP - Oil In Water/Soil Analyzer

 

This is an advanced system that has been developed to measure oil in water, TPH levels in soil or FOG in wastewater concentration levels. The analyzer is equipped with an in-built cubic zirconia horizontal attenuated total reflection (HATR) stainless steel sample stage.

It utilises the principle of infrared spectroscopy to measure solvent extractable material (oil and grease) in water or soil using hexane, pentane, cyclohexane or Vertrel MCA for the extraction procedure. A detector with a fixed 3.4 μm (2940 cm-1) filter is used to measure oil and grease concentrations. 

For optimal analysis and results, the InfraCal 2 ATR-SP comes with added features such as touch screen display, data storage and transfer, a multi-language interface and password protected settings.  The internal battery pack takes less space making it a portable oil in water analyzer. It also delivers up to 6 hours continuous use.

 

InfraCal 2 TRANS-SP - Oil In Water/Soil Analyzer

 

The InfraCal 2 TRANS-SP  is recommended for measuring oil in water, TPH in soil or FOG in wastewater concentration levels using the traditional EPA methods 413.2 and 418.1 or ASTM method D7066-04 and Freon-113, hydrocarbon-free grade of perchloroethylene, AK-225, S-316 or other spectroscopic infrared transparent solvent as the extracting solvent.

Designed to withstand and operate in the corrosive environment of an offshore oil rig, this is a testament to their rugged, dependable capability. The analysis procedure takes less than 15 minutes and even a minimally trained personnel can operate this tool, making it a user-friendly solution.  

They use the field proven infrared technology for measuring oil in water, oil content in drilling mud or drill cuttings, TPH (total petroleum hydrocarbons) in soil and FOG (fats, oil and grease) in wastewater.
