Our process controls training station is designed to introduce maintenance personnel to the fundamentals of process instrumentation and process controls. The station features a process system that uses water to maintain either a tank level or a flow rate based on the instrumentation being employed. The fundamentals or process controls are taught and demonstrated in this unit to emphasize proportional, integral, and derivative action (PID) using industrially rated HMI and programmable logic controller (PLC).
A pneumatic control valve is manipulated via the controller in order to maintain the system’s process variable within required control bands. The pump is controlled through a variable frequency drive, which communicated with the HMI and PLC to offer PIC control through frequency control, not pneumatic control of the valve. This process control training system features HART compatible SMART transmitters, ensuring industry standards are maintained.

Process Control Trainer(Basic)
A working, large scale, fluid process system allowing for hands-on training relating to the measurement and control of process variables including level, pressure and flow. The device allows for the creation of simple and advanced process loops using common, industrial-quality instruments and controllers. An "open architecture" allows for integration of alternate instrumentation as needed to address local training needs. Variable demand and supply disturbances can be inserted using solenoid valves in combination with metered ball valves.
The device includes the capability of establishing cascade, feed forward, feedback, feedback split range, ratio, and three-element control schemes. Clear PVC piping allows the student to see process changes based on control parameters or intentional disturbances. Quick-disconnects are provided allowing the training aid to be connected to other similar units or a temperature process trainer, facilitating more complex process systems.
Process Control Trainer, Downsized
A working, large scale, yet economical, fluid process system allowing for hands-on training relating to the measurement and control of process variables including level, pressure and flow. The device allows for the creation of simple process loops using common, industrial-quality instruments and controllers.
