The Sluice Gates (Penstocks) are made entirely from stainless steel 316L and can be designed against any water pressure. The Penstock consists of a sliding Door in SS 316L either in Round or Suare or Rectangular in shape based on the wall opening and Operated by either a Rising or a Non Rising Stem, Sealing is by EPDM (however other options are available if Required)
The Gates are suitable for Wall Mounting and the Leakage rates confirms to BS 7775 or AWWA 501. Operation can be with Hand wheel or Gear box or Electric Actuator.
Importance of Material Selection in District Cooling Systems
District cooling applications often operate continuously and are exposed to varying water quality conditions. Selecting gate components manufactured from corrosion-resistant materials helps maintain long-term performance and reduces maintenance requirements. Proper material selection also supports operational reliability in demanding environments where equipment is expected to function consistently over extended periods.
Integration with Water Management Infrastructure
Wall mounted sluice gates are commonly integrated with channels, chambers and other flow control structures used in district cooling networks. Their ability to isolate sections of the system allows operators to perform inspections, cleaning and maintenance activities without disrupting the entire network. This contributes to improved system availability and operational flexibility.
Supporting Efficient Maintenance Practices
Routine inspection and preventive maintenance are essential for ensuring uninterrupted district cooling operations. Isolation equipment enables maintenance teams to access specific areas safely while keeping other sections operational. This approach can reduce downtime and support more efficient asset management throughout the facility.
Adaptability to Different Installation Requirements
District cooling projects often involve varying chamber dimensions, flow rates and structural configurations. Wall mounted sluice gates can be designed to suit different installation requirements, making them suitable for new infrastructure developments as well as retrofit projects. Their adaptability helps engineers address site-specific challenges while maintaining effective flow control.
Enhancing Operational Reliability
Reliable isolation and flow management equipment contribute to the overall efficiency of district cooling systems. By supporting controlled water movement and facilitating maintenance activities, these components help maintain stable operation and assist in protecting associated equipment within the network.
