We are excited to present Lecon Energetics LV FCMAplus Soft Starters at Middle East Energy 2026, taking place from 1–3 September 2026 at the Dubai World Trade Centre, UAE.

As one of the region’s leading power and energy exhibitions, Middle East Energy brings together utilities, EPC contractors, consultants, engineers, industrial operators, manufacturers and procurement professionals. At our stand, visitors will have the opportunity to explore reliable low-voltage motor-starting solutions and discuss their technical requirements directly with our team.

Through our association with Lecon Energetics, we aim to help industrial customers improve motor-starting performance, reduce electrical stress and protect connected equipment across demanding applications.

Explore Smarter Motor-Starting Technology

Starting large industrial motors can create several challenges. A motor may draw a high inrush current during start-up, which can place additional pressure on transformers, cables, switchgear and the wider electrical network.

The sudden acceleration can also create mechanical stress on shafts, bearings, couplings and driven equipment such as pumps, compressors, fans and blowers.

Lecon Energetics LV Soft Starters are designed to address these challenges by providing controlled motor acceleration. Instead of allowing the motor to start abruptly, the soft starter limits the starting current and supports a smoother transition to normal operating speed.

At Middle East Energy 2026, we will explain how this technology works and how it can be configured to suit different industrial applications.

Introducing the Lecon Energetics LV FCMAplus Soft Starter

The LV FCMAplus Soft Starter is a reduced-voltage motor-starting solution based on air-core reactor technology.

During start-up, the reactor is connected in series with the motor to limit the voltage and current. Once the motor reaches the required operating condition, a bypass device connects it directly to the electrical supply.

The bypass arrangement can be designed using a power contactor or air circuit breaker, depending on the project requirements. The system can also be supplied as part of a complete motor-feeder package with switching, protection, control and metering components.

This design makes the LV FCMAplus Soft Starter suitable for projects that require reliable, controlled and application-specific motor starting.

Designed Around Your Motor and Application

We understand that soft-starter selection cannot be based on motor rating alone. Every application has different starting conditions, load behaviour and operating requirements.

When evaluating a suitable solution, we consider important factors such as motor voltage, motor power, full-load current, starting-current characteristics, acceleration time, load torque-speed behaviour and moment of inertia.

This application-focused approach allows the equipment to be configured according to the actual motor and driven load rather than using a general one-size-fits-all arrangement.

At our stand, visitors can share their available motor data and discuss the most suitable configuration with our team.

Controlled Starting Current

The standard LV FCMAplus Soft Starter is designed to limit the starting current to approximately three to three-and-a-half times the motor’s full-load current.

For applications that require a further reduction, a special configuration with a dynamic compensator can reduce the starting current to approximately one-and-a-half times the full-load current.

The most appropriate starting-current level depends on the motor, transformer capacity, electrical-network limitations, driven equipment and required acceleration period.

We will help visitors understand how these factors influence equipment selection and starting performance.

Suitable for Demanding Industrial Applications

Lecon Energetics LV Soft Starters can support a wide range of motor-driven systems where controlled acceleration is important.

For pump applications, gradual starting can help reduce sudden mechanical and hydraulic forces on the pump and connected piping system. This can be useful in water-treatment plants, wastewater facilities, irrigation systems, district-cooling networks and industrial pumping stations.

Compressors may also place a significant mechanical load on the motor during start-up. A controlled starting process can reduce stress on the motor, coupling and compressor assembly while limiting the impact on the electrical network.

Large industrial fans and blowers often have high inertia and may require a carefully managed acceleration period. The soft starter can help them reach operating speed smoothly while reducing unnecessary stress on belts, bearings, shafts and rotating components.

These solutions may be considered across sectors such as manufacturing, oil and gas, water and wastewater, mining, HVAC, district cooling, process industries and infrastructure projects.

Built for Reliable Performance

The LV FCMAplus Soft Starter combines robust construction with flexible control options.

Its air-core reactor uses vacuum-pressure epoxy impregnation, electrolytic copper conductors and Class F insulation. Customised insulation options may also be considered depending on the operating environment and project specification.

The equipment is air-cooled, which removes the need for a liquid-cooling system. It also includes a five-tap arrangement with approximately five per cent voltage variation between taps, allowing the starting performance to be adjusted according to the motor and load characteristics.

For applications requiring greater control and visibility, the system can be integrated with PLC and HMI technology. This allows users to monitor operating status, review alarms and support commissioning and troubleshooting activities.

Complete Motor-Feeder Solutions

In addition to the LV Soft Starter, Lecon Energetics can provide a complete motor-feeder configuration.

Depending on the project, the package may include:

  • A power contactor or air circuit breaker
  • Motor-protection relays
  • Metering equipment
  • Bypass components
  • PLC and HMI controls
  • Switching and automation systems

This integrated approach can help simplify coordination between the motor-starting, protection and control requirements of the project.

Our team will be available to explain the available options and discuss how the complete arrangement can be adapted to the customer’s electrical design.

How LV Soft Starters Support Industrial Operations

Using a properly selected soft starter can provide several operational benefits.

By reducing starting current, the system can help minimise voltage disturbance and lower the impact on transformers, switchgear and cables. Smooth acceleration can also reduce the mechanical shock experienced by the motor and connected equipment.

This controlled starting process may help improve operational reliability and reduce unnecessary wear on shafts, couplings, bearings, belts and rotating components.

The equipment can support both new installations and retrofit projects where an existing direct-on-line or other starting method needs to be reviewed or upgraded.
